EDMONTON, Alberta — November 9, 2015. Fedora Pharmaceuticals Inc. announced its receipt of the 2015 Outstanding Commercial Achievement in Alberta Science and Technology award from the Alberta Science and Technology Leadership (ASTech) Foundation. The award was presented to Christopher G. Micetich on November 6 at TELUS Spark in Calgary.
The receipt of this award is particularly meaningful to me. My father, who developed one of the first commercialized β-lactamase inhibitors, was also one of the first recipients of an award from ASTech. Now, years later, I am honored to accept this award for our successful development of a new generation of β-lactamase inhibitors, which were licensed in January 2015 to Roche for up to $750 million.Christopher G. The ASTech Foundation is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1989 to showcase achievements in science and technology in Alberta. Each year it presents 10 to 15 awards recognizing outstanding innovation in the province.
